- Yad
- Curtains
- Chairs

We'd also like to have a music stand for Ilana
Take out from the bottom of the aron:
- Torah blessing card -- put on the reading desk
- Blue tape -- use it to post the two 6th floor hallway signs
- Green plastic WSM envelope
- Take out the hall signs and post in the sixth floor hallway, using the blue tape which is under the aron.
- Take out aliya cards and distribute before the Torah service
- Ask the first on-site leiner to select the gabbai
- Give the rest of the green plastic WSM envelope to the gabbai. NOTE: There is a Miles Cohen luach in either the purple plastic Rimonim envelope, or the green WSM one. The WSM envelope also has two wooden yads.
Make sure someone rolls the Torah scroll(s) to the correct place.
After the service, please collect
- the hall signs
- gabbai cheat sheets
- aliya cards
- luach
and put them in the green envelope. Put the following under the aron:
- green envelope
- Torah blessing card
- blue tape
About WSM Hybrid Services, including a Brief Overview for Davening Leaders
- WSM hybrid services start with Birchot haShachar and P'sukei D'Zimra at 9:40 am. Shacharit begins at 10:00 am sharp!
- Counting a minyan: WSM counts people attending in person AND on ZOOM. The davening leader can just ask "Do we have a minyan?" and let someone else worry about it.
- The leader of Birchot haShachar and P'sukei D'Zimra is assigned by Miriam H-K. The leaders of Shacharit and Musaf are assigned by Iris (with some help from Nos).
- If you're leading Birchot haShachar and P'sukei D'Zimra, please finish no later than 10:00 am. We're flexible about how Birchot haShachar and P'sukei D'Zimra are done. The guide below follows the way Nos does it. Feel free to do it your own way.
- If you're on ZOOM, use any siddur you like.
- If you're leading in person, it's best to use "Slim Shalom" since that's what's available in our 6th floor davening space. "Slim Shalom" is actually Siddur Sim Shalom for Shabbat and Festivals. It has a blue cover.
- If we have a minyan, we do all the traditional Kaddishes in Shacharit, the Torah Service, and Musaf.
- Both Shacharit and Musaf are done "Heicha Kedusha" style; i.e., no Reader's Repetition.
- Elements from TeleTefila practice that WSM does not do: "Good News" at the beginning of the Torah Service, Birkat haGomeil, and Aliya Chatima. We do not read Haftarah at hybrid services. And we don't do a Psalm or reading at the conclusion of the service.
- In Birchot haShachar and P'sukei D'Zimra, please announce which reading you're skipping to. It's best to NOT announce page numbers, since our ZOOM congregants use four different siddurim.
- In Shacharit, please announce the sections of the service: Bar'chu, Amidah, Torah Service; and give folks a few moments to catch up. We generally don't announce page numbers except during the Torah and Haftara reading. For those attending over ZOOM, we have a guide to page numbers here.
- In the Shacharit and Musaf guide below, after each instruction, just continue davening from the siddur until the next instruction.
- If we have a minyan for the Torah Service, the Shacharit davener leads through the point where the Torah is on the reading desk. If no minyan, the Shacharit davener finishes with the Kaddish Shaleim before the Torah Service.
- If the Torah was taken out, the Musaf davener begins at Y'hal'lu. If the Torah was not taken out, the Musaf davener begins with the Musaf Amida.
